This inhabited island is connected to mainland Kyushu by bridge. An inhabited island accessible to those who dislike boats. In Saga Prefecture, I stayed in my car every night except at Matsushima.
Though I call it car camping, I have ADHD and only need about three hours of sleep, so it was more for rest stops. I
used roadside stations in Saga and Nagasaki. There were several other people camping in their cars besides me.

【Origin of the Island’s Name】
It was formerly called “Kabejima” (Wall Island).
An island with natural cliffs serving as a natural breakwater, protecting Yobuko Port from the rough waves of the Genkai Sea. This natural “wall” (KABE) led to the name being altered to KEBE-SHIMA(= island).
【Island Features】
・Home to Tajima Shrine, the oldest shrine in Saga Prefecture. It enshrines the deity of maritime safety. This shrine is associated with the “Princess Sayo of Matsuura” legend, one of Japan’s three great tragic love stories.

風の見える丘公園:Kazenomieruoka Park

I’m not quite sure about the naming. Wind, visible, hill, park. A park on a hill where you can see the wind??

In places like Yokohama, Kanagawa, there’s a “Port Viewable Hill Park.” Meaning a park on a hill where you can see the port.

What exactly is the “wind” here???
