KODAKARAJIMAThe high-speed rail line between Singapore (via Woodlands) and Johor Bahru is scheduled to open in 2026, but depending on your destination, the route via Tuas remains physically more convenient. For Japanese residents in Malaysia or Singapore, knowing both transportation options is now common knowledge.
【Important Notes】
1: No posted bus schedules (except at Forest City)
2: Buses arrived at times significantly different from posted schedules (not delayed; arrived much earlier than scheduled for unknown reasons)
3: Drivers speak Malay and Hokkien. English is not the primary language.
Example Pattern for Selecting the Tuas Route
1: Have business in western Johor Bahru or the Malacca area
2: Go to the AEON mall in Johor Bahru
3: Go to Forest City in Johor Bahru or the adjacent golf course (ghost town)
4: Go to Legoland in Johor Bahru
From Singapore to Malaysia (For the reverse route, refer directly to the bus number)

Board the Tuas-Causeway-Link bus (no reservation required; board on the day of travel)
SG-manCredit card skimming incidents occur year-round in Malaysia.
Cash payments are recommended.
1: Head to the boarding station LINK
2: Wait for the bus in the boarding area
3: Pay the attendant upon boarding (Singapore dollars and Malaysian ringgit accepted)
4: Payment for multiple passengers can be made together
5: For large bills, pay the driver and receive change
6: Open seating. Take a seat

Discount eligibility applies to these three groups.
It was based on “judging by appearance” rather than presenting ID.
Seniors are 60 years old and above.
So if you think, “I look 60 or older,” you might qualify for the discount just by looking the part.
Students may be asked to show ID. This is not a child discount.
Get off at Tuas. Any bus number in the CW series is acceptable for your next ride.
1: Pass through the departure gate
2: Exit the building and proceed to the right (no photography allowed, including the boarding area)
3: Look for the yellow sign. The boarding queue is located there
4: Board the CW bus
5: Enter Malaysia and line up at immigration (foreigners use the center lane)
6: Present a screenshot of the email confirmation from your online pre-application
7: Small shoulder bags and cell phones are exempt from baggage screening (placing them on the conveyor may cause them to fall and break)
8: Transfer to the bus bound for your destination

There is a shop and restroom, but…
There is no toilet paper in the restrooms. You MUST bring your own tissue paper!!!! I’ve used this immigration gate several times before, and no toilet paper is the default. Even though it’s a government facility.

When getting off, using Google Maps is better.
SG-manInconvenient buses.
No electronic displays or audio announcements.
Check your location on Google Maps and get off.
There’s no button to press to signal the driver to stop.
Get off immediately upon arrival.
And when boarding anywhere other than the first or last stop, raise your hand. This is the same as in Singapore. Some drivers would honk the horn to signal, “Are you getting on?”
return trip
Board at the same bus stop where you got off. It is not the opposite route.
TAKARAJIMAFor beginners, bus travel can be daunting due to limited information.
Approach it with plenty of time and a relaxed mindset.
